Hmmm... I'll make an electronic dizzy up with the 21R dizzy guts and test it out and report back here. I'll try this weekend. Thanks everyone =)

The first hit on Google... Not 100% applicable to your case but very useful to learn about ignition systems.

    http://www.toymods.org.au/forums/tec...ion-guide.html

There is plenty of info out there, in particular wiring diagrams if you search Google images.

FYI - the pick up or variable reluctance sensor in the distributor is nothing more than a coil of wire wrapped around a ferrous (metal) core. If someone says it is 'open circuit' they mean the wire has burnt out or broken so when you measure across the two wires with an Ohm meter (or a multi-meter set to resistance measurement) you will see no connection between the two wires.

Ahh okay, Would that normally impede the car starting? Because I drive it daily with the 4K set up but it still runs a resister and a coil O___o It confused me...

Also I have already read that, It was one of the very informative threads that helped me out getting this far =P

Don't worry, If I didn't know the difference from vacuum line to fish tank hose, I probably shouldn't be working on cars all the time XD

I'm guessing when your talking about fish tank hose , its slipped over the pins increasing the dia slightly to limit the travel of the advance arms. You can also add weld to the arm and grind it to suit , the fish tank hose is a quick fix but will slowly wear and alter your advance limit.

Yes exactly! And I thought it'd go brittle quickly, Fish tank hose isn't exactly heat proof >___> I'll use the stuff just to get it working then maybe I'll alter it to something permanent later on.

Turns out the dizzy I did the conversion to was a 16R dizzy =P No cutting required!

Anywho, What are the pro's and con's of a Non-adjustable duel vacuum diaphragm versus a an Adjustable single vacuum for the electronic dizzy.

Also if I use the single vacuum, Do I have the vacuum line run from the carburetor or the intake manifold? The 18RG currently has a dual vac, hence the two vacuum output options there =P
