I'll take some measurements of the AE101 MAP 4AGZE and the 4AGE silvertop I have here in the next couple of days.
I've been searching around, but cannot find any information on the sizes of all stock pulley sizes for the 4AGE / 4AGZE. I'm looking for the following:
4AGE
Crank Pulley 1 Diameter (Water Pump / Alternator) - 130mm (Thanks Terra)
Crank Pulley 2 Diameter (Air con / Powersteering) - 130mm (Thanks Terra)
Water Pump Pulley Diameter - ~112mm (Found over at Toyotanation)
Alternator Pulley Diameter - 54mm (Thanks Terra)
4AGZE
Crank Pulley 1 Diameter (Water Pump / Alternator) - 145mm
Crank Pulley 2 Diameter (Air con / Powersteering) - 130mm (Assumption based on 4AGE size)
Water Pump Pulley Diameter - ~112mm (Found over at Toyotanation)
Alternator Pulley Diameter - 54mm (Same part number as 4AGE size)
Supercharger Pulley Diameter - 125mm (Bigport) 120mm (Smallport)
Any information would be greatly appreciated![]()

i can confirm the stock GZE crank pulley is 145mm, not certain on any of the others though
Thanks Guys.
Using this information for my potential DIY 4AGE / 4AGZE gilmer drive experiment and want to make sure I'm spinning the water pump and alternator at the correct speeds.
If I had a semi decent set of verniers I could give you all the bigport GZE measurements since they are all sitting on my shelf at the moment.
Flying out for holidays tomorrow so I'll try tonight to get some measurements using a ruler and my eye.
Autodub - 1987 AW11 G-Limited, Dark Blue Mica 4AGZE T-Top 4EAT
Measurements within 1mm will be fine.
I just need to make sure I'm not over (or under) speeding the water pump or alternator too much with the ratio of pulley I select to work with the crank![]()
20 valve silvertop pulley diameters as fitted to a 1993 AE101 GT-Apex Levin.
Crank - 130mm (both pulleys identical)
Power Steering - 146mm
Air Conditioning - 150mm
Alternator - 54mm
I'll get the AE101 MAP 4AGZE ones tomorrow.
bigport, 4AGE (AW11), Crank Pulley 1 Diameter (Water Pump / Alternator): 135mm, I believe
So long and thanks for all the fish!
To add to this, does anyone know the correct idler pulley dimensions? The ones from my car don't match up on any listing and I can't find a replacement, both have seized and I need replacements this week but no one is willing to even match them up!
PS Nuline and Dayco don't even come close but I'm lost as to where or whom else to try.
Thanks.
What engine and what pulley? Can you take measurements of your pulley? (OD, ID, Thickness and offset).
Both idle pulleys from a 4AGZE, the ones I have are not the originals and have been custom made by the looks of things. I'm trying to source the originals and resolve the issues before the engine goes in. I've been to every bearing manufacturer and distributor, every main auto shop in Perth and not a single one has a listing or anything close. Not to mention none of them stock the GZE dizzy cap or rotor, the one I did find its correct shape but the lead size is wrong. Plus Bosch have no idea what's going on; they list different caps for the same model and the rotor listed doesn't even come close to fitting. I had less trouble with my 944S2 and Golf VR6. The 4AGZE is the worst bastard child engine I've ever worked on.
You just need to know where to look.
Head to Toyota for the distributor cap etc, it's a lot less painful and not that much more expensive. Hit me up if you have any dramas... (I can get almost anything from Toyota at trade price).
Also, for the pulleys, get a few of these made up and then buy some of these. You can thank me later.

After the whole day searching for the right pulley this was the conclusion I'd come to. Unfortunately I'm still going to need to hunt around for the right solution as the engine has a larger crank pulley and the max size I can fit will be about 60mm but thanks to your diagram I'm one step closer, I'll just get the cheapest closest match and have the spacer made to suit!
Thanks again!
Nick
Ask someone with a Nevo/etc pulley what they are using. They have a smaller idler pulley which is bolt on IIRC.
Does anyone happen to have the measurements for the spacing between the various pulleys on the 4AGZE? Currently looking for these measurements
Just trying to make sure the pulleys I have selected for my supercharger gilmer drive project will actually fit![]()
