    Default Problems filling up...

Basically, The Corolla hates being filled up at a petrol station.

I haven't had this problem with my RA40 but I did with my ST162. I had issues with the pump triggers clicking off unless I held the nozzle almost upside down... That was the only way I could fill the car up. Now I'm having a similar problem with the Corolla. The trigger keeps clicking off and I can't fill the car up unless the nozzle is out a little bit, but then I can only hold it in just a little bit which takes forever... Occasionally it won't be so temperamental and let me fill it up but I can't hold the trigger in completely or it will overflow.

This is really pissing me off! I want to know if there is a way of fixing this, Modifying the filler tube or fucking with the flux capacitor or something..? Country club?

I don't know, I have no idea about this stuff, Thats why I'm asking on here. Cheers in advance =P

    Hi,

Do you use the same bowser every time ?? which service station / bowser is ok sometimes ?? i think it could be sensative triggers on the bowser outlets or there is a blockage in the breather system of the filler neck of your car, but you say its ok sometimes which makes me think it probably the servo pumps .. Easiest way is just try different servos & see if it helps ..

I have, BP ones in Gawler seem to let me pull the trigger half way which is that fastest I can fill up, but any more then that and it over flows >___> Any other pump just clicks off with the slightest pull of the trigger. Filling up that car is almost impossible...

Is there a way I could fix the breather your talking about, or at least see if it's blocked in the first place?

I am having the same problem with my ST162 Took nearly 10 minutes to put 26litres of fuel in it when i went to Tailem bend last weekend. Some pumps are ok while others are near impossible to get fuel in.

Sometimes it is just a shit pump but normally it isn't.
If it clicks off you need to let the handle drain as it will continue to click off repeatedly if the valve is not emptied.

Pull the nozzle out a bit and you will actually see it release and drain from the handle. Then try another angle and lower flow rate.

The shape of some filler lines can make the fuel pumps click off prematurely but you should be able to find an angle/depth/flow rate that suits.

If that doesn't work head inside and abuse the guy behind the counter because it's their fault

Not any more, was a casual job while at Uni.

99.9% of the people who came in to complain I would go out and manage to get it flowing perfectly at full speed.
