Default Broken bolt on belt tensioner help 4Y-E

I have a lovely problem atm, for once i didn't actually break it!

Belt on the 4Y-E in the family 4runner has been squealing at high rpm and cold start up for ages, i tightened the bolt pictured below a few months ago and noticed that it was bending rather than moving anything, so i left it.

i decided to have another crack the other day, popped the bonnet to find there was a crack in the bolt already. The pully seems to be pretty well stuck so i can drive it in the mean time.

How do i fix the bolt though? :/

    Area/pulley in question

    broken bolt

    Cheers!

prob will have to pull the belt off pull the tensioner out see how much thread is in the broken side underneath and either put 2 nuts on and tighten them together ot try undo it out or use an easy out in the top of the broken bit of the bolt then replace the bolt with a new one with some crc on the bolt so easy use for next time

did you loosen the nut in front of the pulley (just peeking out in the bottom left of your pic), before you tightened the broken bolt? As far as I saw it the pulley nut holds the idler in place, usually quite well, but the other (rather broken bolt) bolt is for adjustment, and isn't quite as load bearing.

As for a fix.....the top bit of the bolt looks to be broken free, or almost there, and you may be lucky enough to pull the bottom section of the bolt out by using a pair of vise grips to grab on to the end of the broken bit and turn it in it's thread. You may have to straighten out that bracket though......

    matty.

I actually spotted that today when taking the pics :/ basic idea being the broken bolt is more for 'holding' the pulley in place while the pulley nut is being tightened. I didn't think to loosen the nut

I can't get a decent hold on it while it's in car, but will take it out when i can and replace it
