    Imagine your 18rg is a 1950 60s Holden
And the 4age is a 1999 vt commodore

Well it's been a while but thanks to Sleeka Spares in SA I now have a 22R-E loom, ECU, AFM, injector resistor and electronic dizzy on the way. Looks like I might just be able to get this done. Now I know I am going to need to with change my fuel tank or make a surge tank, what are the thoughts of the guru's? Would a tank from an ra60 EFI fit?

I drove a ra28 with no surge tank for a while, just keep the tank above half maybe.
At least you can get the car on the road without playing with surge tanks yet.
Just get the hi flow pump and filter an give it a go.

How much should a complete RT142 tank cost these days? Read a post that mentioned it is pretty much bolt in, anyone able to confirm?

“The time has come the walrus said”… RA40B coupe style :O)
As a start (follow on) I would like to make a few mentions of thanks as the first thing I do. To the bloke who put together the 1G-GE tech conversion thread (you’re a prick for giving me ideas ;op), Bluewire (Sean) for the inspiration (again a prick ;op), The Witzl (you’re a champion/prick ;op, wealth of knowledge and you need to be bottled and saved on toymods!) and all the others for their ideas, suggestions and all the wealth of knowledge contained in the other threads on this forum, Dave at Sleeka Spares, The Canberra Celica Group and anyone else who I have missed or that has/will provide me assistance/ideas/parts it is all very much appreciated!!!!
After a few years I have finally decided how I want to go with my Celica. It’s an RA40B coupe and will be running the 18R-GEU in it (hopefully supercharged down the track). I want it to be as modern as possible, electronics wise, but retain as much of the original mechanicals as I can, only changing those parts to make it stop, handle and perform better/reliably.
I purchased the car almost 10 years ago and have been dreaming of what I could do to it ever since. After reading the 1G-GE Tech conversion thread, the “for the love of a tractor engine” thread (OMG! So much information!!!), spending a lot of time with my uncle (who built a KE25 rally car) playing with his cars and seeing what Neal Bates has done with his (I have been told the car he is running around in at the classic rallies may be on the chassis of the car I sold him!) I have so many ideas inside my head it is not funny! Mind you half my ideas may not work, I’m not a mechanic!
I would like to make a fun car that I can show off as well as go to the track, be completive, and still drive it home when I have finished. As much as I would love to put the 3S-GE Beams motor into it, the 18R-GEU was free!!!!
So far my plan is to completely strip the car and repaint (this time properly and not skipping steps). I am going to keep the same green I used last time (my profile pic) but I am thinking of adding champagne stripes down the bonnet and boot between the indents and possibly a side stripe/two tone effect from below the grove in the door and guards down, I also want the Celica Dragon emblem on the door/front guard or maybe even air brushed on the bonnet.
I want to rewire the car from front to back… new hoses, lines, resistors, sensors, switches etc (Have I missed anything?). I want to have electric windows and push button start (just because I can, no other reason ;o). I want to build a carputer for radio/sat nav which I am hoping I will be able to connect to the ECU.
I also have (what I am lead to believe is) a W58 gearbox, Hilux diff with LSD and disk brakes as well as a set of Corona struts which can be converted to coilovers which I would like to use, however I am not sure how to tell if this is correct! Anyone know how I can find out what they are?
I have ditched the idea of using modified 22R-E loom and I am looking at the Microtech LT-10c with X4 and coils pack, LSU 4.9 wideband sensor, active ECU logging, standard MAP, 150psi fuel & oil pressure sensors, CAN hub, LTC Pro Dash (might be able to use my carputer instead, any ideas?), Universal Crank Angle kit (would like to get rid of the dizzy to reduce load, if it causes a load, on the engine), new water/air/oil sensors, injectors etc (anything I have missed).
I am going to use The Witzl’s “Guide – 85amp EA falcon Alternator onto 18R or T series Engines” thread to get a beefier alternator on it to drive all my new bling.
I am trying to source a RT142 Fuel tank to negate the requirement for a pickup pump/surge tank/high flow pump/pressure regulator/fuel rail/return setup as I believe the RT142 is basically a straight swap (any other ideas that will work are more than welcome). If I can’t source the RT142 tank then my intention is to build the above setup (variations very welcome).
As mentioned before any and all ideas/suggestions are more than welcome!!!

    Well, that's some thread revival!

You should start a build thread.

If you can't get an RT142 tank google holley hydramat. I've just bought one and while it's not fitted yet, it looks pretty straight forward and should eliminate the need for surge tanks and all that jazz.

I'll update my thread when I get my spare tank POR15'ed and the hydramat installed.

Thanks for the offer Pete but I am going to tackle rewiring the car myself to keep myself occupied
