    Default 3T-GTE wiring loom loom

    Hi guys

I've looked through a lot of threads about 3T-GTEs but not really cover this specific question. I'm removing the 3T from my TT142 and am having a bit of an issue with the knock loom - i was under the impression that the 3T engine loom and body loom were two different looms, and the engine > injection computer was separate and easy to remove, but the loom to the knock computer seems to be integrated into the rest of the loom.

Am i going to have to pull the entire loom to separate it or is there an easier way?

    Any help appreciated.

From memory, when I pulled my TA63 donor apart there were very few wires that actually went to the dash etc but it was all fairly well taped together. Particulary the ignition coil wiring.

You will have to pull the entire loom it traces back to the ECU...............
3TGTE might be old but it can still hammer along.

Yep, both looms are integrated into one.

Easy option is to leave the knock control disconnected, it will run happily without it. When it senses a knock it retards the timing to reduce power, not convinced its worth the hassle...

Another option is to buy something aftermarket, I have the Microtech LTX8 on my 3T GTE and its much better than the stock ECU.

    Cheers,
    Simon
