ill be picking katja up fron kensington round 6pm. which means ill be struggling to get to brooks rd by 7. but considering you kents usually dont turn up till 8ish anyway that shouldnt be an issue yes?

and garth, count me in for a november EC day.

steve; i gave the guy a fucktonne of detail, and made him write an explicit note saying "FOR SR20DET BRAKES, NOT CA18" so if they get it wrong, or dont get it done by wednesday I simply wont pay.

If shit hits the fan ill take the red adub, but I would rather not, it is seriously un-trackworthy at the moment.

Garth, my front calipers have become a real shitfight. The pistons listed for a Mivec FTO seem to be different to the Mivec FTO calipers I've got...

I was planning on assembling them myself tonight, but so much crud built up in them that I somehow need to find time tomorrow to drop them off at the brake shop in the morning after 8am, get 7 hours of work done, and then pick them up in the afternoon before 5pm...
Then trying to convince someone to do a wheel alignment on a car that is only able to be stopped by the handbrake, and then try to get another brake shop to start & finish making braided brake lines on Thursday.

How does your payment for the track day work? If, by some miracle I happen to get the car finished, could I pay you on the day so you can recoup some of your outlay?

Your idea of EC sounds a lot better. Already have an L2S licence, so I'm all good

Whats required to get a L2 speed license? Just be a member of a CAMS affiliated club and pay the money?
Car is good to go for Friday, got everything sorted

    yep, basically.

MR2 club of nsw/aust is a good option - you basically want the cheapest cams affiliated club to join, and they're certainly up there

That's where I've been going. My experience hasn't always been that great, but he has been trying hard lately & done well to redeem himself.

this. if however you find yourself visiting eastern creek for drift events/trackdays/world time attack (as a competitor or spectator) then joining the ARDC makes more sense, as the initial membership cost is quickly made back in savings for the above events.

Thanks for the suggestion Vito. Its a big backup because a normal shop can't adjust the camber on my car (you need to replace the offset washers to change it) & I don't know how much (if at all) the camber has been changed with the different steering knuckles. I had to wind out the tie rods quite a bit to get the wheels straightish.

It's more going to be whether the brake shop can get the braided rear lines finished on Thursday.

This. Especially as the best bit he forgot to mention (apart from the free entry to spectate any and all events plus 6 guest passes a year) is that you get two free trackdays a year; one of which is members only.

November will be my 2nd one. ARDC membership is rediculously good value - but it is also worth joining your local sporting/marque car club for their events, access to other club's events, and just to support them supporting grassroots motorsport.

Same with the L2S; for not much more than a Wakefield licence you can use it anywhere.
