Factory rings are usually a fairly soft material, to avoid excess wear on the bores. As said you can either fit a catch-can/breather or alternativelydo a bit of a rebuild on ye old motor![]()
that would indicate that you got some blow by in your engine, usually indicating that you have worn rings.
you can fit a catch can breather arrangement to eliminate alot of the oil to go back in to the intake. still doesnt sovle the problem of the excess blow by.

If there's one thing I know, it's never to mess with mother nature, mother in-laws and mother freaking Ukrainians
temperature sensor can do these things aswell as your idle problem, or wiring to temp sensor....(sensor for the ecu of course)Originally Posted by Jorrs

well oil catch can will be coming !
if your car is running rich, this can cause excessive blowby. i can only draw on my own experience from when i went from pig rich carby to EFI, and my blowby virtually stopped..
you wouldn't happen to have an atmo venting BOV would you?
edit: i'm tryin to say, fix the mixtures, and you may fix the blowby(or you've lost rings/ringlands
)

yeh i thought bout that so for bout two days, i took the vacuum of the BOV and stopped it opening, but when tried start it still had to pump gas a bit and all ? though didnt do it for all that long, and the running rich did sorta start when the BOV went on, its coming of soon anyway with FMIC kit im buying has a BOV on it that i will plumb back, unfornately that BOV i have on it now is kinda cheap and doesnt allow it to be plumbacked !
define "a fair bit of oil"... a coating and a small amount of drippage is not out of the ordinary, especially if the engine has a bunch of kms on it.
well yeh a coating ? and drippage i guess ? i was comparing to my mates starlet GT who has catch can and has barely anything at all in it?

can you borrow a plumb-back on for the time being??
it would be REALLY good to be able to work out if that was the cause now.... and know if you need to rebuild already...
what happened to the stock one?? why not run it without a BOV?

i suppose i could disconnect the vacum from the BOV, and run the car for a few days and see if it improves.
also car didnt come with one standard.
