what do you guys think of something like this?

it adapts the w5x box to 4a bellhousing. you then run your 4a flywheel and p/plate and get a clutch plate that has the w5x spline.

So it goes from the W5x to the stock T50 bellhousing, which in turn fits straight on the 4A?

The adapter looks the goods, but I think you would be limiting your options of flywheel/clutch setups. ie. single plate/small diameter. Ok for an N/A motor though.

    cheers Chuck.

fair call, according to one guy who put one in, the shifter comes up perfectly in the right spot in the sprinter (w5* with center position shifter).

Yeah, I'd be worried about it fitting the larger GZE flywheel or anything else people are using... that'd be my main concern. (I'm using a GZE Fly)

Also, I guess, if a copper had a look under ur car, even a quick one, that'd probably stick out like ducks nuts.

Edit: Regardless, looks like a top quality item if it is a real option for someone who can use one.

Why would there be a problem with clutch flywheel choice??
Where can i get hold of the guy making these as im from tassie, might be a cheaper option that the bellhousing.

Only reason it might be a problem is because there are different sizes for some of the 4A engines. Eg, sure the 4AGE came with a T50, but the 4AGZE's never did, and they have a larger flywheel, so this may not fit inside the T50 bellhousing that this adaptor mates to.

The GZE flywheel is the only one which wouldnt fit, all the rest would be fine.

Yep, definitely keen if its priced right, but would like to hear from someone who has fitted and used one first to comment on quality and any issues?

Also interested in that option too. But just considering the influences of having the 20mm ish depth reduction in the input shaft. I would assume that this may interfere with the amount of meat which the clutch plate comes in contact with, and i also assume that the spigot bearing needs to be spaced out...

Takai, yeah the input shaft /clutch plate centre engagement could be an issue, but hey the guy does supply the spigot bearing cure (middle of pic) The other problem, possibly, is the throwout bearing being pushed 20mm futher foward on the input shaft sleeve.
