4agze powered Ta22 mod question's

Hi All,

Car: 1972 Ta22 Celica
Engine: AW11 4Agze, sc12 supercharger.
Ecu: Microtech Lt10s

I've been searching the net the past couple of hours reading up on how to get a bit more power out of the gze and now i'm just confused so i thought i would post the questions here.

Im running a pretty stock gze in a ta22, it has a microtech ecu, so the AFM has been done away with and is MAP sensor instead.

Basically im looking for a little more power.

Currently it runs about 6psi.

Ive been reading up a on a bigger crank pulley however, im thinking if the crank pulley is bigger surely that would spin the SC faster and this may not be good ???

Any ideas for basic mods and in which order to do the mods that are going to maintain reliability would be awesome.

I havent got alot of knowledge in the area but always learning!

never heard of increasing the crank pulley diameter.. that couldn't be good as the water pump and alternator would spin faster as well? i believe they reduce the SC pulley diameter instead and yes the idea is to spin the SC faster allowing to reach higher boost.

Unless you want to bore and do some head work and fly wheel work your about there, turbo and use th sc and you will be loving it

running a larger pulley is a common practice on these engines

i stand corrected. thx sam. would the larger crank pulley increase the risk of cavity on the water pump?

You do overdrive the water pump as a result but the alt is on a seperate row on the pulley.

If it were me I'd be upping the SC crank pulley diameter, getting a better ECU and running the 55mm NA throttlebody
