Just thought that I would update anyone who is interested.
The NCOP will not come into effect until start of 2009 for QLD (officially from QT via email). As such, the QLD Code of Practice is still being used.
Could be useless info, but pretty sure I didn't read any dates in the 7 pages of this thread.

i found out the same thing today V8 surf, bloke on the phone said hopefully fully implemented by start of next year.
was ringing around about cages and re-engineering my 1ggte ke70, and one bloke went so far as to say the regs state if it doesnt come with a turbo, you cant put a turbo motor in it...righttttt...but he would engineer a weld in 6 point cage....very interesting.
so i did some ringing, and one bloke said his mate will do it all, but wouldnt give me the mates number...
another one said cages have to be bolt in only, cant even weld rear....once again, wtf
rung qld transport, oh, ive no idea, ill fax you a list of approved engineers, yep, nearly the same list i got about 3 years ago from them, not much luck with that yet...
hopefully more joy tomorrow...

4DaDrift, have a feeling that applies to stock vehicle engines, or "equivalent vehicle engines" in vehicles prior to 1986. "Performance engines" will require upgrading of various things like brakes, etc, as well as an emissions test if I read it correctly.
Apparently these regs will be picked up by QLD Trans in the new year sometime, possibly modified slightly.

with conversions, you have to comply with the adr's associated with the engine year... so if you have a 1972 car with an engine that came in something in 2001, you'd have to comply with the 2001 adr's.

wheel/tyre is dependant on the car itself (but can be changed at engineers descretion)..... noise is dependant on state laws, same with tinting..

for performance engines or addition of turbo/SC... cars from 69-88 must comply with second edition ADR's (page 17 and 22)
so... seems it is a catchall that you need to comply with 2nd ed ADR for pre 88 (post 69), which means ADR27.... which is?
hmm, 2nd ed ADR in section LO says ADR27 is from 1/74 on..
ADr26 says all crankcase gases must be sealed form escape (72 on) = no venting catch cans...

for 86 onwards it is abotu 0.9 and 1.3
edit: and i forget where and cbf going back to look but, somewhere said engine needs to continue to meet ADR37 if it previously did so...

Actually, assuming your state is following the NCOP's, then a) wheels/tyres are not at engineers descretion, NCOP clearly states legal limits b) noise is dependant on ADR's, c) NCOP clearly states how dark tinting can be.Originally Posted by 5000gt
