Default What's the best ITC piggyback out there?

Would anyone recommend a nice and simple add-on computer just to control ignition timing? Like apexi s-itc which seems to be phased out unfortunately.

Planning to get a bit more out of stock 1uz-fe non-vvti, which seems to have too conservative timing below 3000 rpm. I'm not planning any boost or even head porting or new headers etc, so ideally I need a very simple device without extra functionality and cost.

just get a cheap ecu that does fuel and ignition
timing only ecus don't have good range
and hard to find good info on them
plus u get better performance from a 1uz by playing with
mixtures as they run pretty rich at full throttle
anyway 1uzs are abit sluggish unless u put manual box behind them

Would you name a few? I'm quite familiar with only two which are popular here: apexi safc (but it does fuel only) and greddy emanage (with its price of $350usd> , I think it's overkill for my purpose). Not to mention hks f-con is, which costs over 1 grand

if u don't want to spend more than 350 dollars then don't waste
your time doing anything as anything u do is prob going to be
    half done
maybe try eBay for an old timing adjuster which has 6 or 7 knobs
which u turn but I've never seen these be reliable day in day out
don't the later safc do timing too
I've seen to many crappy emanate stories to ever touch them

ok then what's your mind about adequate price and reliable piggybacks? Those which can do timing & fuel but probably without too much additional capabilities such as boost control?

And you're right I initially intended just to correct the timing, from many aspects it looks as work half done. But on the other hand it increases performance somehow and it's free when done thoroughly (e.g. with attention paid to temp. and knocking correction)

Pick up a cheap MegaSquirt 1 and use it for ignition only
Gives you the ability to do data logging as well then and drive extra inputs/outputs if you want to run some extra cool stuff.

    thats prob cheapest out there
buy a ms and build it then program it
anything like a safc or timing control unit will give u very limited adjustment
i would just leave std ecu alone unless u plan to go full ignition and fuel control
i doubt u will gain much until u do both

i recon u have more to gain playing with mixtures than timing control

ok seems like I got your idea about the options available.
As for "very limited adjustment", I believe it would be sufficient though. Think I wouldn't need any advance over 6 degrees, and no retard at all, and some 6-8 RPM points would be more than enough (keeping in mind I'm just altering stock ignition figures to small amounts). Don't personally like the MS, if I go that far I would rather build something from scratch and sell as non-adjustable black box here :-)

p/s checked out Apexi SITC manual. It does use doubtful strategy to modify crank angle sensor signal. Cause the very signal is also used for sequential injection and vvti control. So it looks like building custom one is the way.

going to check it out. Haven't seen one before.
p/s ok the emanage blue is the thing to choose. It's a bit outdated and it can't fool the IGF signal but that's not a big problem anyway.
