did you take out everything on the sandwich plate after it pop and see what actuallw went wrong in there?
Rebuild 16v-4AG AE86
Finally took car for test drive; first 10mins was good then after warm up i thought to push it lil bit, in 2nd push it up to 7k suddenly there was burning smell coming form bonnet and oil pressure gauge stopped, turn off the car and open the bonnet Bloody sandwich plate pop out from the block. Don't know what went wrong.
(it was fine on Dyno push up to 8k.)
there was small leak (few drops) from Sandwich plate when it was on Dyno and i tighten up everything before took it for test drive. it was brand new Greddy oil block.
would like to know anyone had this problem before?
if i run filter relocation is it gonna be solution?
and which brand i can use ( can't trust Greddy)
Fukg Lost Don't know what else to Do.

it was daamn hot , left it in work shop; was so tired after work. didn't get chance to had a good look
but i can see clearly Sandwich plate came out from center bolt;
is this block just going to a remote filter? or also to a cooler?
'I've scrapped better.' John stated when asked about the car by the guy with the silver tipped cowboy boots!
it's only Going to Oil Cooler; Center Bolt thread is 3/4 16UNF (i think it can't be M10- 1.5)
I was thinking Oil-filter, Fittings might add up some weight to Block adapter and may be make it loosing it.
that's why thought to go with relocation.....
You need to examine it closely, only reason it'll come away from the block is the centre bolt either backing out (because it wasn't tight to begin with) or it's the wrong thread (I thought toyota filters were metric).
Weight of filter & fittings would be only be marginally greater than just a filter.
The fact that it leaked on the dyno does point finger at the clamping of the plate to the block. That bolt has to be done up bloody tight otherwise it would loosen/leak every time you changed a filter.
i think your on the money there with the wrong thread size, doesnt sound right to me either that it would come loose, and the centre bolt i thought it would of been metric where it screws into the block..
Oil Filter Thread IS 3/4 16UNF isn't it same as Block thread?
Improper install may or may not be the culprit.... I wasn't there
I've had success using the Mocal thermostatic controlled adapters
Information is POWER... learn the facts!!
Can you let me know which one ...SP1 or SP1Fve had success using the Mocal thermostatic controlled adapters
one more thing
Can over-tighten Damage the Block thread? (I think block is cast iron)
SP1 is without thermostat, SP1T is with it
Information is POWER... learn the facts!!
You guys are wrong. Greddy is a shit brand and can't be trusted.
