does the plate have a groove on the block-side for an o-ring? if so, then get the o-ring from an oil-filter and fit it into that groove before tightening the plate back up.
AE86- 4AGE 16v;
When I start the car for first time there’s a leak form oil sandwich plate;
First I had “MADE IN USA “oil sandwich plate when I crank da motor got leak form that then I change it to brand new Greddy sandwich plate now there’s bit of oil coming from in-between block and the plate around 3.5k, put sealant and tighten it again but noting cured it………………….
Is there a specific torque specs for that? Or any ideas how to stop it ?

cool, I'll check whether it gonna fit....
Also check to see if the o ring is perished. if so replace.
celupra : o ring is good , it's brand-new
thechuckster : Did that
But it's still leaking ;
don't know what to do i know lot of ppl running Greddy block plate with out any issues........ Don't know whats wrong with mine.
Can't take it to tune without fixing it . (or last option remove the cooler and get it tune )
Is it the right size for the block? I have an old plate (came from Outlaw Motorsports in SA) from my 18RTE that used a Z4 filter o-ring - it's too big for 3S motors (o-ring is literally on the edge of the machined casting section) and would have leaked with any substantial pressure.
And are you sure the plate isn't catching on some nearby casting protrusions preventing it from seating on the machined area where the filter normally sits?
o-ring size is 57mm, there's other size one with 67mm but it doesn't come with thermostat;
so every where i seen ppl use one with thermostat is 57mm (4AGE, B16,18);
when i put the filter no leak , tomorrow will check for surface again....
if this continues to fail.... Mocal makes a thermostatic oil filter adapter that hasn't leaked on any of the cars I've uused them on. The Mocal has a specific seal designed for their adapter
Information is POWER... learn the facts!!
oldeskewltoy; thnx man; i know i was thinking abt getting Mocal before Greddy one much cheaper, but take few weeks from overseas; then went to greddy dealer he got one in stock i was so desperate to finish da car soon,
but the problem is i know lot of ppl use Greddy one in-their cars (4AG) , thats y i can't figure out whether it's the adapter it self or something else. lets c 2day how it goes....... if not try I'll try Mocal or Earls.
