[QUOTE=whatthe?]Nope, fraid not, compression tested it after replacing starter this morning, not one iota of pressure in cyl 4, wouldnt even move the needle on the tester. I guess I'm probably looking at a holed piston Lucky I have a set sitting in the garage but it's a pain in the ass of a job. Ah well, thats what weekends are for isnt it? [/QUOTE

    thats a hole different problem!lol
nice set of forgies and back into it.bit of a pain mate.

Im going to go with fucking around with my tune to try and milk as much out of it as possible . I was running it uber lean through the midrange and also a little more advanced timing in the top end than I probably should have been

The new autronic will stop me from being able to screw around with things as easily as fiddling with dials and buttons

Oh, and I just want to go on record as saying that a properly prepared and fitted standard HG on a 7M is obviously good enough (or at least better than standard pistons ) cause it never even complained once about the abuse it copped

As kingmick said, I'm surprised you haven't got all the other obvious signs of a hole in a piston (like a seriously pressurised sump).

I'd be checking the valve train, I'm thinking either the inlet or exhaust valve is suck open/stuffed.

My money is on a cracked ring land.
    YelloRolla's KE20 1/4mi = 11.32 @ 119mph @ 22psi on slicks
    12.44 @ 113 mph on 165 wide street tyres
210rwkw - not bad for a smelly 3TGTE running pump fuel.
