The hose goes to engine vacuum
You need speed sensor input
Look at your wiring diagrams very carefully you may just be able to get it to work
May be you can use cruise control off the donor car
Ive dont some searching and found a few threads on this forum about it, but im still 100%.
Car:mx83 S1
Engine/trans: 2jzgte/manual
Problem: cruse control not connected/working
1. I have a hose coming off the cruse control unit, the port it labelled VAC, now does this need to be simply put in on one of the other Vac lines or does it need a 1 way valve in place? obviously on the 7m it would not have seen +boost pressure.
2. In the threads i came across i noted that many said to cut this wire and route threw clutch pedal to earth so it will cancel when clutch pedal is pressed.
3. Is there any other wires that need to be connected? When i did the wiring, there is no speed sensor input to the computer, no NSW bridging (i completely bypassed it), these no gear selection done on the ecu (may think is has no gear? haha or defaults to neutral?). Or is number 1 and number 2 the only things i should have to do as everything else hasn't been untouched.
I apologise in advance for ANOTHER cruse control thread. Just Im going to be driving it daily on the highway and im getting old and lazy. I like my luxuries, hence the choice of car.

Jealousy is a curse
Speed sensor wiring is there from factory, if the cruise was factory fitted.
Not need to do anything there.
Rehook up vacuum line.
Cut that wire.
Job done, go test.
Don't worry about hooking up the clutch switch, unless you are paranoid.
I've been running without one for ages, and to a large extent, I actually prefer it that way!

I figured the VAC hose goes to engine vacuum, the part that I wasnt sure was vacuum only (by means of 1 way valve) or just normal manifold pressure (so it would cop positive pressure not just negative)
Speed sensor, is there a sensor in the dash? as there is none on the gearbox as its cable driven speedo and manual.
Okay thanks CrUZida, ill give it a wurl. Yes factory cruse control, like I said it hasnt been changed at all during the conversion. For the most, it has heaps of toque so I shouldnt need to change gears but i may as well put the wire threw it just incase im dumb and for get. It already has the switch there on the clutch pedal so i may as well.

Yep, there is a speed sensor output from the dash.
Goes to the stock ecu, the cruise control ecu, the progressive power steering ecu, and probably something else I can't remember.
Before you wire in the clutch switch, get the cruise control working.
Once you know its working, then wire in the switch.
You'll need to get a vacuum canister, otherwise as soon as the car hits boost you'll lose the cruise.

what is a vacuum canister? There is already a 1-way valve there for the charcoal canister, thought i could just splice in a T-piece after the valve to just get vacuum?
Have added +rep to you
Its a little vacuum reservoir, something to hold some vacuum for small periods whilst the motor is under boost.

hhmm, my cruse control computer is a bit different to that, its orange and has the plugs on the side rather then the bottom. Also has at least 2 black/white wires![]()
Well i poked the mouldy meter in the two wires, one seemed like an earth so i chopped that (the smaller of the two) took for a test drive and it works. I seemed a bit shitful as in not smooth kinda on and off throttle a bit too much at 110kays but seemed nice and constant at 80kays. Maybe because it hasnt really have much of a workout for a few years, will give it ago on the way to work tomorrow and see how it goes. At least i have it there if i ever find myself on a long trip and my leg aches.
Thanks for the help![]()
You may not have enough vacuum at 110kph for it to work properly.
If this is the case a vacuum canister will fix it.
