Is anyone driving down from Sydney on Friday morning?

I'm looking for a lift to come and spectate for the day. I could share the drive down so you're not fatigued but ready to race when you get to the track.

Anyone had experience with the Kumho Ecsta V700's in the wet?

Tossing up whether to bother swapping them over from the stock tyres or not...

yep, I've run mine in the wet Steve, so has Vito.

They were surprisingly well planted but not as good as the Toyo R1Rs that Finney had on his car.

they will grip better than your stock tyres. i went for a drive in my adub last night with my pretty much bald V700s and they still have shit tonnes more grip than the brand new shithouse tyres on harreh's soarer. They dont like deep standing water of course, as you have no tread depth, but so long as it's not too deep they will grip better than most tyres.

Yeah - they really need a drain on the inside to catch the runoff. Oh well, bring on the sideways action

Damo, i'm letting you know right now, if it's that wet we're taking the bmw out with it's new lsd, suspension and the gopro for some 'driver training' and getting it very sideways. Now that the mx-5 isn't around for these duties we need you to step into the gap left for wet trackday hilarity.

Disclaimer: I am not condoning or even suggesting people partake in drifting at this trackday - the organisers and officials don't have much leeway on cars appearing out of control or driver's pushing beyond their skill levels. While this may be a little more relaxed by the afternoon when it's quietened down if you spin it a few times and/or they have to pull you out of mud or sand more than once you will get a talking to and threaten our passenger allowance.

I know most of you regulars are clear on how to behave and what's expected and allowed, but that's for the benefit of a few newbies and anyone else who may be reading.
