I have seen the build plates on RT142 Corona's at the wreckers, and the ones with the 2.4l engine showed a W58 /box on the manual versions.

interesting were these IRS 2.4L models or live rears, I'll check mine on the weekend (live rear 2.4L efi manual).

The 5 speed manual was only an option on the 2L carby models anyway.
    If in doubt power out

My logic isn't flawed. Im not assuming. Have a look at an MZ and VZ series block side by side...and tell me what you think

I should be able to get a photo of a 1mz in the next couple of days. We can compare it with one of the pictures in the rwd 3vz thread.

    3vz Block

    1mz Block

They would appear to be different.
    Enjoy.

^ Transaxles that are used on the 3VZ bolt up and work on the 1MZ and vice versa...there are differences in the design (of course, different engine families) but they do work. So, i don't see why this adaptor plate wouldn't work with a 1MZ, going by simple bolt pattern and size. The only thing that may effect it could be the actual design of block...metal/brackets/bolts etc in the way.
    Kind Regards,
    Kurt.

But that doesn't necessarily mean the bellhousing bolt patterns are the same, which is the relevant point in this discussion. The photos above suggest the bolt pattern is in fact quite different.
