Should be fine to test the fuel pump directly mate.
Can you hear the relay clicking?
Hi,
this is my prob....
car -4AGE (AE86) with Adaptronic
i install brand new Sard fuel pump with their Harness kit, did the wiring like this
30 - Ignition/EFI 12v
87 - Fuel Pump (+)
85 - ECU Trigger wire
86 - Ignition/EFI 12v
Fuel Pump (-) to the Chassis
but still pump is not working....
before figure out the correct wiring (thnx to Stain HR) ; i did it in wrong way
my questions are
Can wrong wiring damage the fuel pump?
is there a way i can test the pump by itself (taking out of fuel tank.... is it safe to feed direct battery to the pump?)
(cause it's not fake, doggie e-bay sard ; directly got from jap)

i connect pump to battery directly ( with out taking out of the tank ) but no buzz or anythng. is it dead?
I'd pull the pump out and wire battery directly to the pump to be sure, but it does sound dead.

will do it 2night.
i took it out of the box last week ,and install it then went for tune. then found out this.
i second pulling it out and bench testing the pump, don't run it for very long with out pumping any thing through it though.
then take it from there.
not every thing works straight out of the box haha
dan.
