Default Camber pin guide needs welding?

When I got the alignment done on my Soarer a few weeks ago, it said on the printout I got that the front right camber pin guide needs welding. I don't really know that much about suspension and alignment, so I took the car into a workshop yesterday to see if they could do this for me. 6 hours later the car is apparently ready - $22.50 for 12 minutes labour and no, they can't do it. Apparently I have to take it to a heavy-duty engineering workshop to machine and weld the guide.

I've stared at the suspension diagrams on toyodiy.com, but I can't see a camber pin guide anywhere on there. Does anyone know what exactly needs welding? I've stuck my head in the wheel well and looked around, but I don't know what I'm looking for.

I'm not really sure what it is exactly that you are talking about, but be aware that the welding of suspension components has A LOT of responsibility attached to it.
If you have an accident where people die as a result of a mechanical failure and the investigation finds out that suspension components were welded outside of the factory, especially a forged and/or heat treated part............

And it's 1 thing to add some metal and remachine, but it's another thing to add some metal, stress relieve, remachine and correctly heat treat a component. Especially without distorting it.

Find out exactly what is going on and what is worn out. Then look at getting those parts replaced with good second hand ones.
And be very wary of any suspension place that says to "Just get it welded".

According to the relevant documents in QLD, you cannot weld to any part of the suspension. Not without some serious engineering.
