Sounds fair. Was actually non Toyota's I get nervous about.
Most of the Toyota clubs are pretty good.
Hi Timbo - the club has thrown the doors open on this one as we want to welcome as many toyota enthusiasts as possible.
We will be keeping a careful eye on things and if any one does do the wrong thing we will report their rego etc to the police.

very interested. if nothing more important comes up i might mosey on down for a look. and maybe enter a car if he doesnt mind a 4wd vehicle in 2wd mode on the dyno..

Thanks guys for spending your whole day running the event for us. The snags were great Dave, the order was kept well Frank, van the camera man, Adam, Matt, and all the others behind the scene.
I bailed early after getting the mega lean readings on the Celica.. thought I might come home and see if I could find a solution. Nothing obvious so far sadly...
Thanks to Frank for making this one happen, he was still there at 7pm when I called to see how it was going! Thanks to Dave for manning the BBQ, and the other guys for supporting it.
Here are a couple of photos I took... different mix of cars to our social events which was good!
Some more here

you need to tell me what are the mains and air correcters and what size chokes you are running std 18rg with 9.7 to 1 uses 145 mains 170 airs with 34 mm chokes
How does one measure his chokes?
Info I sent Rodger was
Main jet Air - 175
Main jet - 135
Pilot Jet - 65
Rodger is sending me some different mains and airs to test in various combos.
they will have a number on them
you need to go up to 145 on the main that will richen it up and go down on air to 170 .use mirror and torch look inside there should have a numbber on the venturi either 34 or 36mm ,its the round choke sleeve that goes over the pump jet
Hey Adam, it was great day with a pretty good variety of cars and a great bunch of people. Thanks to both yourself and all those who organised the day and got everyone together.
On the topic of your 18RG: What sort of AFR's do you call 'mega lean'???? To be be blunt, after today, I don't hold a huge amount of faith in the AFR readings I got on sunday.
My supra which previously has been run time and time again in varying conditions at around 11.5:1 AFR ran 12.5 to 12.7:1 on the dyno on sunday. Thinking that I had a problem, me and my tuner checked everything again today, and used 2 different high speed wide band sensors, (one brand new), both on the dyno, and on the road, with air and engine temps ranging from slightly cool to stonking hot, and could not get the AFR's to move from between 11.2 to 11.5 under load.
Talking to my tuner, he questioned the age of the O2 sensor used on the day and showed me a pile of them in his dyno room. He said he buys a new O2 sensor about every 1 to 2 months, as they can bugger up that easily when tuning things that come in running pig rich, use ethanol based fuels or are diesels. He said the soot can destroy their accuracy pretty quick under the wrong conditions.
It might be worth another look before making changes.
My AFR started at 14.. and then made its way up to 18 and off the scale.
There seemed to be some discussion before my run about which sensor they were going to use though no idea what that was about... but I agree I shouldn't over react based on what one dyno says, especially when it was measured at the tail pipe which isn't a great indication of what actually happened up the other end of the exhaust.
However when you put that reading together with my car "running out of puff" at 5000 rpm, and plugs that are on their way to being white-ish, its definitely something I want to investigate thouroghly before cruising to Sydney.
Tonight's check of fuel pressure seems to suggest its ok, though I can only check it as it cranks rather than as it runs.
Rodger, who rebuilt the carbs, is sending some different jets, and I reckon with a bit of time spent that will help.
We will put a sensor bung in the exhaust tomorrow just after the collector and stick a sensor in there and see what it has to say.
Then I will put it on a dyno Wednesday to confirm what we find.
Thanks for the feedback.
