I have often wondered why people go to the trouble of blanking out number plates, or wanted it done, when they have been quite comfortable to drive the car to an event with all and sundry to see it out on the public road.
It sounds like an urban myth to me - I mean are there seriously enough people employed by the EPA that they can spend their hours trawling forums to find photos of cars that might or might not be legal?
Who knows, it might have some basis in fact. Given we publish our event details far and wide, if they were really that keen surely they would turn up at an event and give us a real good going over?
Anyways, its a good point and I have noted it, but quite honestly I don't have the time to sit there and blank out each cars plates, nor have the photo editing software to do it (ms paint sucks to do it in, have tried before), nor the inclination. If I had to do that with photos each time there was an event, it wouldn't happen and I wouldn't post them up.
I am one of these people that thinks if you are concerned about getting pinged you are probably doing the wrong thing anyways, and you really should do something about making your car legal.... but I might be old fashioned in my thinking
As to the camera - its a medium range point and shoot Canon S3is. Canon does brilliant cameras at all levels, and you can get great results even with one of their little point and shoot cameras

(I used to work at Canon and still love their products)
Oh and one last thing - I have always modded a car's plates when the owner has specifically requested it, so if any one is bothered by it, just PM me

(I just can't be assed doing it to every car there!)
