Unfortunately no. Check out Kebins tercal wagon conversion. He's trying to fit an st185 box and transfer case to his gze The bellhousings are nowhere near close to get in. There is a LSd equipped E153 on ozcelica for sale at the moment out of an SW20. Thats thepick of the bunch for you as you wont have to play around with shift mechanisms or linkages.

Oh, and Terry at R&T has a beams cut with LSD box for sale. I think that would be an s53 LSD box though and not the e153, which is good as it should be lighter. Double cone-synchro on 2nd and 3rd. Nice box, i had one in my st162. Im sure if you asked nice he could convert it to suit a mid-mount setup.

3SGE uses an S series box. S53 or S54, depends where it comes from. The E153 was used on the SW20 turbo. StuC you need to remember that was a 4WD box that kebin was fitting so it is a different story for kebin's car in terms of compatibility

C series boxes will also bolt up to a 3S which means it is quite easy to mount a 3S.... use an AW11 C52 (or an E51 if you want stronger gears though the ratios prob wont be as good for it) and then the associated shafts and mounts are all direct bolt on, and like that the only "mounting" mod you have to do is for the timing side engine mount. Same dealio goes for mounting a 3S in a corolla

But I must agree with dylan. A 2zz swap makes more sense. Newer engine, better aftermarket support, MUCH lighter, having to use an aftermarket ecu isnt that big a deal... IMO if you want an n/a screamer go 2ZZ. If you want baws power just build a 4AGTE, if you want a rad engine conversion stick in a 2GR

For a number of reasons I want to stick with factory management this time round, but otherwise the 2ZZ would be the pick!

Wondering if you could tell me what price is being asked for this gearbox? (so I don't have to register)

    Thanks.

The stock NA shafts should slot straight into the AW11 hubs. If you use an E series box then the outer CV's can be swapped to GZE/ST185 etc joints and they'll go straight into the stock hubs.

A 3S-GE swap will be 90%+ the same as a 3S-GTE swap. So cut out the side mounts on the chassis and weld in new ones in the right positions. Modify front and rear mounts to bolt up to the stock locations. And you'll have it bolted up. Stock shifter cables will work fine, just make sure they aren't too close to the extractors. Clutch line will hook up fine. NA shafts should fit fine, possibly slightly too long depending on placement of the engine in the bay.

Since you're playing with not a lot of torque and a S series gearbox you might even get away with building adaptors to go from the engine and gearbox end mounts to the stock chassis locations.

Good luck with the wiring but it should be reasonably straightforward.

Personally I wouldn't bother putting a 3S into an AW11 though. They're really not that pleasant an engine and not exactly light. I'd definitely be going for a 2GR if it was an option or building a serious 4A rather than a N/A 3S.

S54 gearbox with SW20 NA drive shafts fit into the AW11. I'm using these behind my 1MZFE V6.
E153 gearbox will need either AW11 SC shafts (hard to get now) or a mixture of ST185 and SW20 CV's inners/outers (info is on TwoBrutal).

2ZZ ... what are they, 180-190hp stock? 8000rpm factory redline, light as buggery, would be perfect for an AW11

Pretty sure you can get plug and play 200+hp ECUs from teh likes of TOMS and Mines, etc?

damn, nice find phil! Yeah, a 2zz would be the shiznit, I'll have to look a little harder at it...gah, so many options! Maybe I should just order a 2.5 v6 vitara front cut for the vitara, anda 2zz front cut (and an MR2 )

dylan (mr22zz) is doing a 2zz swap into his at the moment. he would be your best bet for info on that swap if you wanna go that way.

    otherwise 4AGTE's go well

Only thing that makes me hesitant on turbos for AW11 is taking away some of the sharpness, other than that it's the bang-for-buck winner!
