    Default 4age Maps

Does anyone have any ignition fuel maps they want to share?

I am currently trying to tune my 4age 16v with throttle bodies... Fueling is getting there, but i would like a base map for timing.

    Cheers.

Here is what i am starting with. The car starts and drives ok as long as you do not thrash it... It needs timing adding i know, i need someone to come and drive the car while i sit in the passenger seat and see whats going on.

    Along the top is RPM
Down the side is TPS values

I'll dig out my old HDD tomorrow. I have a tuned adaptronic 20V ITB map that will have timing that'll be similar.

If you want to start fiddling and have good fuel put 35 in the 8500 x 100 TPS table to start with, people run much more on good fuel and stagger it in down in a similar fashion to the 20 deg base. You'll pickup piles of torque, that timing is less than most boosted cars run at WOT mate!

Timing based on TPS vs RPM? Thats not normal...
Or did you mean MAP vs RPM?

Nah man, ITB motor, TPSxRPM is the only way, once you're above 15% throttle on an open ITB motor your map signal goes to atmosphere.

Not if you use a vac accumulator tank, which will then give much better tuning possibilities than tps vs rpm.

Not worth going to the trouble - If you tune them properly on TPS vs RPM they driver just fine.

The last ITB setup I built - 3SGE Gen2 on GSXR Throttles ran an Adaptronic E420C, it can Run a MAPxTPS tune table. You aren't getting 100% out of your ITB setup if your not running one. It gives you a Map multiplier table, 0 - 1 in very high resolution which is an RPM x MAP table. In mix mode, The RPM X TPS table is tuned to start with on the dyno under loads. Like most ITB motors they're designed to be held flat stick on the race course, when the map signal means nothing. So the mixed mode gives you a multiplier value at low RPM when the throttle is sealed enough to get a stable vaccuum signal, to trim fuel based on engine conditions and the TPS tune gives you better resolution when your making the bitch scream

BTW Bill love the long ROD 7AFE blocked 4AGE cranked 4AFE build, I hope it was my random post that led you to it! Been thinking about what would happen for 5 years! When I calculated the rod ratio it ended up much like a Honda B16 motor, on the same cams they're up 10kw on a 4AGE, they make up for what they lack down low up top, that's for sure. So if its going in your open wheeler it'll be amazing, I reakon its the formula to spank a formula Atlantic 4AGE. From your site I guess your not going that nuts of the cams, but E85 4AGE pistons will make a cheap 14:1 monster, can't wait to see how it goes. Got a beast new camera if you want some HD in cars vids when its done.

    Cheers for the replies.

I don't think the software i am using allows the use of MAP and TPS. You have to choose one or the other.

I will try the 30 degree idea and see how i get on. Thanks.
