Talking Ignition maps - show us yours

I'm hoping to begin a thread type database. What I'm after is a screen capture of your ignition map. I will be adding at least one map, and maybe more. What I'm hoping for is other peoples ideas on ignition timing on 4AG engines. Last week I did a search using "4ag" and "ignition map" and I found a thread from about 2006 that said someone had decoded a Freedom ECU and found a MAP in their that allegedly went out to 40 degree from 5500-9000 rpm.

TOOOOOO MANY rumors!!! So I ask all with aftermarket management....... PLEASE POST your ignition maps!! If you could add a few details about your build, that'll help as well

I will be posting my current one within a few days - I need to get a flash drive to go from the tuning computer to my internet computer

    This is my ignition map.

Its not a true 3D ignition map, only the values in the TMAP row and TRPM col can be changed.

MWP: that's a bit frustrating - ideally you don't want timing to retard until you hit boost

edit ... i quickly went thru my efi shit folder - most of these came from msefi.com projects.

A few more from my site: http://gt4.mwp.id.au/

Remember this one is AFM flow, not MAP, so probably not useful.

That SR20 on Microtech would have the same scale as my Microtech map.

Yeah... that map could do with some improving Joel.

Light load cruising RPMs could be advance a lot further to improve fuel economy.
I would be trying up to 40deg adv at say 20-35%, 2100-2700RPM.

Your high load advance seems to be backwards too.
You should be advancing more as the RPMs increase, not the other way around.

I am very interested in seeing some TPS based N/A ignition maps, as I am doing a dyno run tomorrow. I have been told 36 degrees at full load up in the revs works best for a 4A-GE 20v.

So at what load should timing begin decreasing? Or can it increase as load goes up? NA engine I'm talking here.

Timing should be retarded as load increases (torque, not HP), but should also be advanced as RPM goes up.
That goes with both NA, and forced induction engines.

Tuning for just before pinging is the best way to do a street tune, but is not optimal as best power could be quite a bit before that.
Tuning for best power can only really be done on a dyno.

    Love this thread, very interesting!

Going out there on a limb, but has anyone got a map for a stock-standard 3T-GTE? We'll be street tuning it to get it running, and a base map would really help to get things running at the least.

    Thanks,
    Al
