Project megap00 - Gave up and sold up. Money tree died
dw steve im just getting in on the rona ribbing![]()
Once I get the new wheels & tyres I plan to head to Road & Race for an alignment, my bodgy dial in some camber seems to be better on the street. Only thing is the steering is a little wack at low speed parking stuff, not quite as bad as it was pre-shit alignment but not 100%.
If in doubt power out
how long is it since you've had decent bearings/hubs Garth? It seems to have been quite a while, based on duration of whinging
I'm now stuck down in port Kembla all day, so my plans for any work happening on supra today have not come to fruition.
When are you heading over to Linden's? I might pop by and say hi, and borrow one of you guys to assist with brake bleeding.
Cheers,
if you cant get a second set of hands for the brake bleeding shenanigans come past loz's workshop tonight and i'll help you greg
lol @ crashing linden's place
ABS = crap at the track. Couldn't brake anywhere near as hard with the ABS active. EBD on the other hand...
In reference to brake bleeding - I got a one way valve bleeder that goes onto the nipple on the caliper [probably what everyone uses anyway] and it saved me a HUGE amount of time. Went from having to manually open/close the nipple while someone pumped the pedal to jumping in the car and pumping the pedal like a madman while making sure the fluid doesnt get too low. It was like 20 bucks from repco and turns such a shit job into a 10 minute solo event.
note; on my way to Jax now ;]
Must be car dependant as the Soarer always had me straining against the harness even with ABS enabled. Never found it to be a hinderance at least.
Just need to bleed my brakes tonight and load it up on the trailer tomorrow night. New suspension didn't arrive in time so the beemer will be very roly poly.
Well i've (read: Linden has) found some AE101s at SSS - unfortunately i can buy the whole upright/hubs/brakes upgrade setup as a pair, or just one hub and get a free brake upgrade with it... as my desperation isn't very well hidden i'm not exactly in a strong bargaining position. Still, better than not getting anything - and yes i will now be going to Linden's this evening to pick everything up.
Not sure on time but can msg a few people when i know? He'll be at home - i'm sure he'd love a bunch of unannounced drop-ins.
Wheel alignment ain't gunna happen; may or may not do lots of re-install work late tonight.
Oh and if anyone wants an AE101 brake upgrade let me know as i now have one for sale. Please put the word out. At least i may just dispel myths about changes between hubs etc; i already showed the track change was false and now Linden is saying the AE101 and AE111 i gave him both have a 54mm disc centre bore, same as the AE92? Maybe my memory is just shit, but that doesn't sound right. Consistency all the way through sounds a lot more like Toyota; If it ain't breaking don't change it.
AE93 SX 20V - Next Wakefield track day is 13th of November 2015!
1:15.47 at Wakefield Park | 1:59.45 at Eastern Creek GP | 1:08.81 at SMP South | 2:04.77 at Phillip Island

oh, I agree with you. There's a reason why I'm bringing a small NA hatchback to the track instead of the Dina.
If he doesn't at least equal my time considering he has better brakes, suspension, power (despite the lack of experience), then I think his new nickname should be eunuch
And I can't see how ABS can be considered bad at the track. It's the ultimate threshold braking & the reason it's banned for a lot of race classes. Old 3 channel systems excepted.
But each to their own.
lemme know garth, hope to make it - gotta do grocery shopping and a bit of work first.... wish people would stop getting stabbed.
Garth, the centre bore didn't go up to 55mm until the ZZ series corollas. which is also shit because they are the perfect fittment for my setup if they were 54.1mm, but I digress...
Sorry I didn't get your message today until this arvo. Battery died and no charger at work.
