corolla sportivo turbo help

hi guys,
my missus best friend has come to me with a corolla turbo prob.
the turbo is shot and needs a new one. (her husband said, i have not seen the prob my self. they want to replace it)
it is an IHI VHF4 but im not sure if there is something that will swap over or how hard they are to find. iv tried ebay but not sure which one suits.
any help would be appreciated.

Without a part number off the factory one, you might have trouble matching it up. A WRX one *might* fit, but I'd really doubt it. Most likely it's slightly specific to that car, could be very difficult to replace. what defines 'shot'? A rebuild might be the best option.

apparently it cracked on the rear housing.
hes a "mechanic" but.... the new type of mechanic lol.
the turbo has no diagnostic plug so im sure hes got no idea whats up.
its fairly weird compared to the wrx style stuff.
i have heaps of wrx turbo stuff here coz of our turbo starlets but there nothing like em.
there kinda like the IHI shit from a rodeo.
just gotta see if i can find a bolt up swap for it.
i dont wanna fab things anymore... im too busy.

Are you going to do anything to shorten that induction path? Longest in history (longer than EP82...)

na just keeping it stock....
its not mine like i said.
plus its for the family car so it has to be reliable.
ep82 stock inlet length is short as! lol with front mount is a bit long.
