having a look at a vid from Phil's car a while back... those trees are fairly close to the circuit..and those kerbs are fairly large... :/

Dont be soft!

Theres room enough to slide around mostly at the loop end but obviously its not a flat out smoke pouring off the wheels type drift circuit.... you just need to be a bit more restrained in some parts

Theres only really one tree to watch out for, and you'd have to really overcook it on teh brakes to go near it... imo the finish is the trickiest being off camber braking with kerbs to bite you if you get loose!

not worried about the room to slide around... just the cars tendency to want to change lanes with just the accelerator pedal..

Yep, this is a perfect opportunity to see what really works - tyre and wheel wise - on a circuit. You'll fast find out, just because it looks good doesn't mean it makes the car faster - don't forget your tyre pressure guages!

I've just checked that helmet i have in the garage, has AS1698.
slightly different layout to this tag. Should be ok yeah?

might just try sort some lining for the helmet and use that

AS1698 should be fine for pretty much everything you want to do, except maybe the drags, even then most of the guys there didnt look that hard.

Should be fine for Midvale regardless though mate.

I get the impression if I tie down a Collinder to my head using elastic bands they'd let me on.

If you just need a helmet to get onto the track you don't need much money, get a cheapo open face for about $50 nowadays.
