I'd be in if my car was ready. But alas not allowed to use the Mazda 3 and the 4cyl VC Commodore would be a "challenge"

**unless my car gays itself again..
having a look at a vid from Phil's car a while back... those trees are fairly close to the circuit..and those kerbs are fairly large... :/
Stomps
Woot.
The tree near the bottom of the pic (above "Ave") is the one to be careful off!. The others are fair distance away, the kerbs in the curvy bit on the left of the pic are high but its fairly wide through there anyway.
And there is a roundabout in the middle.
The biggest issue if you go way off the track are the ditches. There is a massive ditch down the right side of the pic (roe highway is on the other side), off the top of the pic is a bit of a drop off and despite how it looks in the pic, the other grassed areas inside the course are not flat.
We start off with a pretty slow track anyway so everyone can get a feel for it first.

not looking for anything too flash, just something that will do the job. are open face ones ok to use?
Heya Kam,
What other events are you likely to do?

other events in mind are kwinana drags and AHG driving course. barbs might be an option though rather expensive from what I've heard.
I've actually got a motor cycle helmet i got from my mate when he sold his bike but its missing the inside cloth bit. possibly usable but the foam leaves a nasty dandruff like finish on ya head, hence why I'm looking to find one for future use.
Ahh righty.
AHG just need any helmet, last time i was there they didn't check. (Hopefully stomps will confirm as he was there recently).
Kwinana has a few options, see here for more info than you probably want http://www.toymods.org.au/forums/sho...-February-2011
Haven't been to barbs so dont know there mate. but CAMS manual says the following for club racing sort of events. (Schedule D)
AS1698 Australian standard
Snell SA95 (not valid after 31/12/2012) USA standard
SFI 24.1 (youth helmet standard) USA standard
E22 (with 03, 04 or 05 amendments) European standard
BS 6658-85 Type A (including amendments) British standard
I would think if you get a helmet to AS/NZS1698 you should be ok for all these events. (Note the /NZS in the standard! this is the latest version, the older version only has AS1698, make sure to get AS/NZS1698!)
Also I don't recall helmets being checked at Midvale before, but I will confirm if there are any special requirements and post back.
