Default Frozenboost style water-air intercoolers, any good?

    looking at these ones

    http://www.frozenboost.com/product_i...e8df644d12bb9d

just wondering if anyone on here has used them with success on 20+psi projects?

I just dont want to ruin the old school look of my RT40 by slamming an air-air intercooler on the front.

Also looking at the PWR barrel ones as well. Just wanted people's thoughts and any success/horror stories....

I highly recommend their Heat Exchangers. I fitted a 24x12x1 unit and it made a dramatic difference to the effectiveness of my W2A cooler.

I have a bosch pump on my GT4 for the W/A.

Not one of them, but the pump looks the same to me.

I have had no issues with that pump for the 2-3 years i have had it on there.

By comparison, i had endless issues with another brand of pump, went through 3 of them.

If these are the same kits and parts on ebay, then it's the same stuff I'm looking at buying for my GZE build.

i was looking into a FB cooler for my RS-Turbo Subaru a couple years ago. From what i recall, and i did a heap of research at the time, they are considered a fairly decent bit of kit, and definitely worth the money. Just as i was about to purchase one i decided to sell the car and move on. If i'd have kept the car i would have definitely purchased one.

give it a shot 'cause 1) they're cheap, and 2) someone needs to so we can get a review on it :-)

brendan is using a frozenboost intercooler and heat exchanger, not the barrel type though, seems to work ok on his car. i have a frozenboost heat exchanger with an ST205 core on mine, i'll let you know how it works once it's running

I bought two barrels and a 24x12x1 exchanger but not running yet so can't say anymore than they look the goods and I got all three shipped for about the same price as a single PWR barrel. Got an inline filler for my rad as well but that seems a bit flimsy, should work okay though.

I didn't go with the pump cause from memory there were better ones avaible if you look outside the automotive world.

Better might not be the right word.... when I was looking it was mainly comparing flow rate. Depends how you want to set it up.

There were some chinese ebay jobs that flow more but I was put onto marine bilge pumps. I was going to mount two of these in tank in the boot. Example:

Very compact and high flow but can't handle much/any pressure loss. Flow graph for the smallest pump here:
    https://www.whitworths.com.au/main_i...AbsolutePage=1

I was going to get a small one and set the system up in my back yard to see how much it could flow. Plenty of options in the boating/caravaning world for other pumps too, just got to look around.

laminova will shit all over frozenboost and pwr, as they are air to air modified to play with water.

frozenboost are extolling their differences to air-air cores... no idea abut PWR.

    laminova are interesting but...
