Ok Toy.
There is the 18R-G Tractor engine thread with a stack of info in amongst the waffle.
There is the T series engine thread started by river.
{Too slow with the typing, good one Silver}
View these threads to determine which engine you have. 18R based twin cam 18R-G or a T based twin cam 2T-G? Two very similar looking engines of 2lt and 1.6lt respectfully. R and T motors do not mix.
If in doubt please post a picture and we can very quickly identify the motor.
Any rebuild of a motor benifits nowdays, with the quality of the fuel (even ULP), on better compression so start there with the higher comp pistons.
You are in the right forum now we need only sort the facts from the unlearnt.

I am going to have to ask.
How is it you believe you have a 2T crank in an 18Rg?
Your creditability is waning Toy_RA28 in this thread. Please research which motor you have.

I dont think he has any idea what he has.
Is you distributor in your timing cover(18rg)or in your block(2tg). That's the easiest way to tell by looking at it.
Looking for a new toy. If you have something 18r powered let me know.

Hey guy's sorry umm checked it last night it has 2t on the main bearing cap definitely 18rg

Dude. A 2t crank will NOT fit in an 18rg.
I think someone has sold you a pile of random parts and ripped you off. Sorry but from here that's how it looks.

Thats cool but the cap does say 2t could possibly the 2t caps fit????? The motor was running

I don't think the lettering means anything. My 3tgte,2tg,18rg,18r. None of them have anything meaningful on the bearing caps apart from arrows.

Hi,
As mentioned in Post #3 in this thread, there is already a large 18R-G thread. We also have a thread on turbocharging an 18R-G.
I know these are long threads, but amongst the waffle they are packed with a goldmine of useful information. Instead of starting yet another 18R-G thread (which kills me, as we all know it's the greatest vehicle engine ever built) I am closing this one so you can use the existing threads for this topic.
