Hi Im looking at buying a 1985 Corona ST141 4 spd. Only problem is the engine is faulty.. Wondering if they are ok to modify in the way of engine transplat. If so what type of motor will fit and what modifications will I have to perform to get through rego here in NSW. The car will be for my son as his first car so I want it to be safe and legal. I understand the brakes will need an upgrade if a transplant is done, any idea what brakes would be best.. This will be a project for my son and I and also my first non v8.. any help would be great..

Really depends on how much money you want to spend on it, like everything. The 1ggte imo is the best upgrade as far as $ for performance goes. As far as brakes go, I have ra65 brakes on my 1jz corona and they are direct bolt on and allow you to run stock wheels.
