you are re-tightening the nut in the centre of the pulley after adjusting it tight?

yeah mate, the original problem was a real highpitched squeak, like hurting ears high pitched, i thought it was the belt, so changed that, then it persisted, so i changed the bearing in the pulley, re tightened it all, and still squeaking, but now it keeps coming loose and killing belts..

did you include that wide, dished washer when you attached the new bearing? Is the bolt on the front of the pulley loose when you find the belt is loose?
Pics of mine are here (scroll to bottom): https://picasaweb.google.com/thebigc...er/GT4_rebuild

yeah mate, put the wide dished washer back on, well the wierd thing is, i tightened the washed up heaps and it wouldnt turn at all, so i loosened it a little bit, so it was still tight though, and then it came off. ive had the belt off and on 5-6 times before and never had an issue

awesome, exactly the pic i needed mate, looks to me like the bearing in mine may be pushed too far back and the washer is fouling the centre of the pulley, will inspect ion the w.e =)
