mmm colourfulgood luck!
Gonna try out some extended tables tomorrow on the MegaSquirt using some table switching based on RPM.
32x16 Fuel table, 24x12 Ignition table.
mmm colourfulgood luck!

In case a couple of you have missed it, the new MS3 Pro launched on the 1st Jan from DIYAutoTune.
$1199.00 - http://www.diyautotune.com/catalog/m...ess-p-538.html
The MS3-Pro combines the features of the legacy MegaSquirt-3 with all available 'expansions' built right into a single circuit board in a sealed case. The o-ringed case is splashproof and, if you want continuous immersion resistance (the MS3-Pro displayed at PRI was at the bottom of a fish tank), it's easy to add a bead of silicone for extra protection. Furthermote we've updated the power supply design to use a switching power supply to minimize energy consumption and maximize stability of operation (down to as little as 6v!). We also included the new intelligent knock sensor capability allowing for advanced knock windowing and noise threshold configuration, integrated internal SDCard datalogging with time stamping of all datalogs, USB and RS232 Serial tuning interfaces, individual cylinder tuning for fuel AND ignition timing to allow you to compensate for differentiation in flow characteristics to different cylinders and truly maximize engine output, and more!
The MS3-Pro is ready to support a wide variety of engines out of the box, with the ability to anything with one to eight cylinders with sequential fuel injection and sequential 'coil on plug' ignition, a V12 with sequential fuel and wasted spark ignition, or a four rotor Wankel with separate leading and trailing ignition outputs. Over 50 different ignition modes are supported, from mainstream applications like the GM LS1, Bosch Motronic, and Chrysler Gen III Hemis to unusual modes like Renix Jeeps and the Suzuki Swift GTI.
The MS3-Pro's packaging is also a departure from most previous MegaSquirt EFI Systems. Instead of the industrial looking split aluminum case and D-sub connectors, the MS3-Pro uses a sealed high temperature nylon case for light weight and compact size, and heavy duty AMPSEAL connectors. This provides a compact and sealed enclosure protecting the sensitive internals from the elements. The MS3-Pro's design keeps the heat generated to a minimum, allowing it to use a lighter plastic case instead of a metal heat sink.
Hardware features:
Freescale MC9S12X 16 bit, 50 MHz asymmetrical dual core processor
10 saturated injector drivers
8 logic level ignition outputs
3 high current (5 amp) general purpose outputs - 2 can be reconfigured as additional injector drivers
3 medium current (3 amp), high frequency general purpose outputs
All unused injector and ignition outputs can be used as SPARE outputs. This ECU has a LOT of I/O!

it only seems expensive because of where MS has come.. not compared to other popular alternatives

Bruce and Al might have spawned the platform, but it's really James, Ken, Matt, Jean and Jerry that have really made it what it is today.
The MS3 Pro is 'expensive' compared to the other MS family members, but it's a pro solution that is designed to be work with any car without having to wire up extra circuits on protoboards and fiddling with adjustment pots.
so the two oldies didn't have that much input into the polished "solutions"?
mustardmitt, i'm a bit out of touch
whoever it was, they've done a cracking job![]()

B&G don't really provide anything to the MSExtra community from what I have seen (I could be horribly wrong...) that doesn't already come from the B&G MS hardware and code sources.
The MS3 Pro is entirely a DIYAutoTune project (Matt & Jerry), but it's built on the software and features pioneered by the MSExtra community and the leading heads (James and Ken).
Just about got my megasquirt install on my 7k efi and supercharged 4k, got the squirt powered up for the first time and got a few weird things going on.
First thing is when you power on the fan relay buzzes then turns the fan on for a split second, then shuts off. I have the fan triggered via the IAC 1 wire.
Also I have trouble with the ecu showing weird rpm readings, I am just running a locked 5k electronic dizzy, and getting the crank signal from the neg side of the coil.
Ecu is ms2 3.57smd running ms extra
Cheers

i have 4K with 7K efi toobut wth 4KE dizzy.
when triggering from the coil, I had to run a resistor to get it to read without noise (MS1 and MS2)
i'll see if i can find it.. (had it set up with RCA connectors).
am now running basically an ignitor setup to get clean rpm signal with the MS2
re fan, what settings do you have for that output? does it have hysteresis set up etc? is the behaviour you're seeing what you'd expect from the IAC output if it thinks an IAC is connected?
edit: 15Kohm resistor between coil neg and MS to get clean feed..
i foudn that value when still running on carb, and connecting MS1to coil to see when rpm signal became smooth.. many years ago LOL

So just a 15kohm resistor on that signal wire? I'm pretty sure that I have it triggering the relay negatively but haven't changed any hysteresis values yet but did a little research, 6.0 sound ok, what would the setup be, 0 and 0?
