Reassuring to note how much driver counts. Congrats to Luke for getting within 2 places of the "old dude" in the Evo8. The one with the XSpeed stickers

Yes, the driver counts for a lot - wonder how much it will cost to upgrade me???

Practice and perhaps an Advanced/Training day sometime....

Nope, talking about brakes. I know I saw on one occasion (maybe it was a one off) when you pulled into the garage quite hard, the car squatted forward and as the rear wheels came unloaded they stopped for a sec while the fronts kept going. Not as pronounced as Mitch's for sure, but I know I saw it at least that one time.

Hahaha Actually there is a good example of the difference in drivers with those two guys driving the Suzuki Swift Gti. One guy was doing 50-51 seconds on the short tracks, the other was down with us doing 55-56s.

Excellent! My LSD has left Japan, been through Melbourne customs, and is now on it's way to me :-)

And Matty's dropping the "spare" (transplant) T-series over this arvo, so I should be well on the way to seeing how this goes soon. Fingers, toes and anything else crossed!

Sweet. With a little over a month untill the next round, you should have ample time to get it in . I can't wait to see how it turns out.

Yeah unfortunately you can get a few people like that. Most of the guys I spoke to were pretty cool though.

Not really an expert on the whole aftermarket ECU thing, but aren't Motecs supposed to be good?

motecs are 'THE best' but id say a 170 hp 4age na corolla engine would have been fine using a stock ecu - he could have saved himself 4 grand

I chatted to that guy as well too, and yes, I felt something 'not quite right' when we were discussing his front suspension set-up and 4AG motor, but he seemed happy with his lot in life, and 'it takes every kind of people' to 'make the world go 'round'...

Now the pressure is on me big time - Luke will have his surge tank in to cure his fuel surge, Gene will wind up the boost and have an LSD in place, and the old guy in the Evo 8 will still be quicker than me!!!!

    Gene, Luke, JCMF, Ian, Matty:

Do you think it is worthwhile starting another thread to document what changes we make between rounds so that we can see what works and what does not?
I want all the Toyota's to do well and if we can get Evo 8's and Mazda MX5's behind us rather than in front, we would get a few noses out of joint I reckon!

that cause i bet the guy gets the key friday night and practices before the event - its pretty unfair if u ask me not getting a few practice laps first like how long would 3 practice laps take 3 min max. just to get familiar with track and breaking points..
