Great relief, my car IS sorted, reassembled, and ready to run. Haven't had a chance to do anything with the bodywork other than bolt the panels back on after paint, so the only finishing touches they'll get will be the carwash at Dubbo I guess! Quick shakedown driving it to work tomorrow, then ToyNats here we come!

I can't believe I'm having to say this - but I am out too...

This morning I was finishing mechanical checks and last minute fuel pressure checks etc. I turned the car off while standing outside which I don't usually do and the turbo sounded rather loud winding down - rather like a rather worn out ball bearing race... I pulled the intake piping and there is bulk movement in the turbo shaft both directions. The oil feed had gotten a bit blocked by the seems of it and unlike in past times I had long since forgotten to check it at oil change etc.

So 20psi and bugger all oil feed apparently are not great for turbo's.

Sucks dude.

Next year I am paying someone to detail my car, fucking over cleaning it already. Bloody wagon swirls the exhaust gases around and everything is coated with carbon. Anything not affected by that is embedded with brake dust arghhhhh.

Edit: Time to rest and then pack, car is kind of clean just haven't done the glass and wheels as they will need to be done again once I arrive, looking forward to the first beer tomorrow.

Curse has struck I'm leaking a small amount of coolant from one if the rear heater hoses. Hopefully will ask make it up tomorrow.

oh god, the boots in the MR2 are filling up awful fast and i have not even packed the beer yet :O this is going to be an awesome weekend

new tires are on, alignment is all sorted out and the dubbo curse is yet to strike although i am worried about the clutch if i drive it to hard
