Vacuum gauge shows pressure in your intake manifold, within the limits of 0 and 1bar (with 1 bar pressure standing for zero vacuum). Charger makes excessive pressure, so sometimes there will be more than 1 bar and thus you will need a boost gauge.

However if you run boost gauge with N/A engine it will work right but obviously it won't show any boost (pointer won't go anywhere positive)

Look at turbo cars they run the air flow and air temp before the turbo and even before the intercooler so i dont think its going to be an issue, if going with the MAP sensor and you have the supercharger you will defanetely need a boost guage

After hours of research "YES" there is minimal differences, but there is more opertunities to manipulate MAP sensor imputs to the ecu, i believe.
There is a dual reostat system that can be put between the MAP sensor and the ecu, what this does is, gives you the the opertunity to manipulate the signal to the ecu therefore increasing tunability via the AFR meter readings.

thats an old school way of tuning by frigging with map voltage. I assume this is a relatively old ecu?

NO its new, a basic stand alone unit. With MAP imput so i have found out, I am just learning and feeling my way "cautiously" as i have never delt with ecu, MAP or MAF before :-)

how much are these units? if you havent already got one you might want to explore some other ecu options to ensure value for money.

I have already purchased one for, all up $315.00au to my door. It is already in my vehical, i have not wired it in yet and the fella's in the forums sent me a few maps to get me started. So i really can't complain to much. It came with mag adaptor (for free) as it works better on square wave although it does work with sine, and an TP100 igniter. Its simpliciy, cost and recommendations is what sold me.
