    Default External WG, which one?

    Looking at 2 in particular:

    GFB EX50
    50mm
    $750

    And the

    TiAL MVR-44
    44mm
    $600

I was set on the TiAL but have been offered both at the same price.
Reason being, have had good reports on the older V44 and the watercooled actuator housing appealed since it is going on a racecar (circuit), but suspect it may just be a bit of a gimick?

The GFB seems to have some good traits & comes with a good packages (ie. all the springs you'd need), but I associate the brand with WRX owners wanting the loudest BOV they can.

Does anyone have experience with either of the above? Good bad or otherwise?

    Thanks

    Glenn
ps. is going on a mild 1JZ

Tial units are good. PowerTune here in Oz has them at good prices too!

As for GFB ones, I have no experience with them so I cant comment.

Unfortunately the NZ$ isn't doing so well Vs the US$ (well not like the AU$ is)
There is only about $40 in it by the time it gets here.

And would prefer a local return policy (hopefully not needed).

I've never really understood why they are so expensive for what they are? It's not like they are a complex bit of kit.

def go tial.. don't go ebay, chance of fake one is too big. buy from a genuine reseller.

I run the standard 44mm one (not water cooled) on a 6boost manifold on my rb25 drift car, and it works awesomely.

    Just picked up an MV-R44 with a 1bar spring(s).

Looks very nice and is probably going to be the bling-est thing on the whole car.

Interestingly, the diameter at the valve seat measures 40mm, I guess 44mm must be the valve face itself?

having a valve that actuates/seals properly in a high temperature/constantly changing temperature enviroment calls for tight tolerances and high quality materials

    hence price.

heck i got a tial 60mm WG with the Vbands and flanges for under $600.

if you can forsake the local return then get it direct from a US supplier, try rsrace.com, or look for gorrilla industries(aussie group which source stuff from US for decent prices)
