    Default R154 fluid capacity?

Can anyone fill me in? doing an oil change and want to make sure that 4L is enough! I've done a V160 getrag before and they take stuff all, but I remember the R154 capacity as much larger, just unsure as to the exact number.

    cheers

    Hi,

A smidge over 4ltrs when filling from stripped down bone dry. I just changed the oil in mine and used a little less than 4ltrs.

    Cheers,

    Pete

Thanks for the info pete, I might buy an extra litre on top of the 4L container just in case I need it.

Mine have all taken pretty much 3L before it started coming out the fill hole. This page lists the capacity as 3L: http://www.turbosupras.com/pages/pag...ZA70/jza70.htm

What grade oil are you using ? as you mentioned you might do the diff with the extra 2 litres left over ..

If the oil viscosity grade is too high it will be a dog to change gears when the oils are cold ..

thanks guys, i had bought some Castrol VMX80 (have used it in the past with no dramas). I inteded on changing it before going to the track on the weekend but when i got under the car I realised you can only undo the filler plug with a 20mm (?) ring spanner, of which I didnt have! So I just left it and actually the box felt pretty bloody good all day once it had some heat in the oil, its a bit of a pig to shift, particularly down from 3rd to 2nd when its not hot but thats just typical used R154 I think.
