AE92 Smallport 4AGE. Finally got everything back in the car and connected up to get the engine running. It's a little hesitant to start (probably because I've got no cold start injector) but once it kicks it will idle fairly smoothly for about a minute or so. After that it pulses from 1000-2000rpm every second or two, like constantly blipping the throttle, except I'm not touching anything.
I'm no longer running the idle control valve, as mine was dodgy. Its currently setup with a solenoid valve which I manually control, so that shouldn't be affecting anything.
Car was previously power steering, but I converted to a manual rack and plugged off the lines.
Timing may be a bit off, as my timing light broke.
I'm a little stumped as to what might be causing this. From what I know I've got 100% control over the airflow into the engine, so without touching anything it should be stable. It definitely seems temperature related, as it works fine while warming up. Any suggestions as to what I should look at next?
check timing and then go over all your vac lines checking for leaks.
Map sensor may have gone to poo?
