I had a brilliant pic a while ago of the induction system on one of the V8 Supertaxis, but i cant find it now

    EDIT: Very much like this

    But carbon and better spacing.
takai i have been making the V8 supercar crossover setup in carbon and alloy for years. mine are a little bugger as we make a bit more power!
they work well and have seen no gain in other types we have tried. on the sport sedans the plenum is big and its fed dam air from the front.

ED is there a reason you are using two single plenums and not a big single bottom plate and top cover?

sealing, linkages, and also sealing the linkages

plus i also have little to go on design wise, and have been approaching this from the twin 4cyl perspective... also been influenced by the european supercar v8 and v10 intakes (like mclaren, ferrari etc)

One word of warning with carbon intake. If anyone is going to try and make some for themselves: note that carbon is very brittle and not impact resistant at all. We have had a carbon intake runner rub and vibrate against a fuel hose and fracture intake in the middle of a race (GT2 class), which destroyed the engine, cause some parts ended up being sucked in.....
Needless to say we changed the design so that there is plenty of free space around them, so no chance of anything rubbing or vibrating against them, never had any problems since.

if he had the money to make a carbon one, i would suggest a multi thottle setup as mate can cast the manifold. was going to show him in alloy. we are talking the airbox not the trumpets, lol be a big aibox to make a crossover out of his manifold. you only have problems with carbon when you dont know how to design and make them properly.
