    Default turbo assembly lube?

guys, liqui-moly make a turbo specific assembly lube for rebuilding turbos. would you advise using this or would any bearing assembly lube do the job just as well? its the initial 1st start up after a rebuild that can cause damage until oil gets into the turbo bearings, takes around 20secs? but surely thats true of any part of the engine so will any assembly lube do?

Are they bush or ball bearing turbo's ? how much is the turbo specific assmbly lube, if its not to bad on the price just use it ...

Personally the bush turbo's are in my opinion the more at risk out of the two types of turbo's i have mentioned ..

The oil pressure is going to get there a lot quicker than the 20 seconds you mention & if you are really worried pull out the spark plugs & crank it over till you get oil pressure, then refit plugs etc & start it up ..

they're bush bearing type, CT12's. its the same price as any other assembly lube but as i already have engine assy lube in the garage then i'll use that as at the end of the day bearing lube is bearing lube. good shout about cranking it over without firing the engine to get the oil up there though, cheers.

end of the day any specific bearing lube will do the job, the turbo specific lube is probly better designed to break down with flooded with engine oil like engine assembly lube..

definetly a good idea to crank up some oil pressure before starting engine
