    Default RA23 diff?

    This may be a stupid Question, but how bullet-proof is the RA23 1976 standard differential. How much HP will they take?

    that depends on how its treated
    on my blue shitter its the original diff ,and its a locked one at that
    i have raced on it in four 6 hr races and numerous sprint/track days over the last 6 years
    i think the reason that it has lasted so far is i dont dump the clutch , i let the clutch out then floor it
    but having said that , i have acquired a volvo disc brake diff assembly to fit in the white 28 when the 1uzfe goes in that
    i think the rest of the car will break before that diff

    Thank you, the volvo setup sounds like a great idea. I am planning to have my 1uzfe in before Christmas this year, but i am keeping the auto tranny.(wife).

    does the volvo diff+discs conversion need to be shortened?

    that depends on the wheel choice , maybe you can get away with it by folding the lip and pumping the guard a little with a guard roller
    they are a little wider someone may know exactly
    i have opened the thread on volvo diffs
