    also heard somewhere that taco front diffs had 50mm. think on custom tacos for people using mk2 and mk3 LSDs rears for 4WDs instead of forking out the dough for the TruTrac or TRD units.

    Well according to Rich at DTS the 911A342 and 911A644 are both 50mm bearing units.

    Ill have to ask him about the 911A565

    So to sum up, a 911A644 diff with standard Toyota bearings will bolt in, all hunky dory, and seem to be about $400US?

    Yep... although according to Eaton it will not work as well in a RWD application as the 911A565.

    This is due to the design difference in the way the gears are cut and how the torsen works in transfering power.

    Is this the same situation which can be fixed by pulling it apart and resetting the gears?
