What vehicle is the engine in and what year?Commercial vehicles didnt have as much anti pollution crap as passenger vehicles and there were changes made with just about every model.
hi
after doing many searches
can any one help with a diagram of the pollution diagram
for the 18rc
why bother you may ask
its just that the engine i have in the silver slug will have to do until i change it for the 18 rgue
and for the moment i would like to get it running a bit better
as all the little rubber hoses are all over the joint
some are not even connected to anything
thanks
ian

Street: RA23 with 18RG (off the road being rebuilt, rust cut out, etc, usual story)
Track/Rally: TA23 with 18RG Cams Logbooked (my baby)
The amazing thing about common sense is it's not that common...

hi guys
that diagram is ok for engines that have all the pollution gear in place and it is ok for a reference
i am looking for a more detailed one coz all sorts of strange shit is happening when i drive it
back firing idling rough etc etc etc
thats only happening since i hooked up vac lines that had come off
there is a little manifold thingy that sticks out in front /side of the block
from what i can figure out one of the dicks has to have a constant vacuum
that in turn opens and operates the other three when the engine warms up
another would go to the air cleaner and operate the cold air flap. that leaves one or two vac lines that i am not sure of
now my charcoal cannister only has one vac line going into it
where does the other go
this is starting to hurt my head

i just got off the phone to pac and he is going to bring his 23 over that seems to have all the stuff in place so i will copy that
ihave got things underway to put the 18rgue in
but tht silver slug goes quite well and i just want to see if it will go better , well until after hanging rock at least

after checking pacs it is a different set up
mine has much more shit on it
pacs is 12 months older than mine

i got an 18R-C down at the farm, but that's a 76 pretty sure, and also pretty sure all polution gear blocked off / disconnected.
Maybe do a bit of detective work with that pic and link i sent and a bit of trial and error?

yeah
i will be doing that today
i went to repco and bought a shit load of vacuum tube
its going to be 41 degrees here today so i will have the cooler on in the shed trying to sort it all out

yeah i saw that, we're meant to have 41 or 43 or something today too. We're used to it, but i feel sorry for you poor victorians - you're not used to heathehe
good luck with it, i'm sure with a bit of trial and error and head scratching you'll work it out. I was looking at the anti polution gear on my 18R-GU yesterday, most is blocked off. Gunna leave it like that and just slap it back in the car

ah, i see your problem, unhook it all!
and i reckon every car i have ever had has had the anti polution gear blocked off (good ole ball bearings in the tubes)
probably because we don't have regular emissions testing on our cars here in SA... yet we have the oldest average age of cars of all the states, except Tassie

well after a bit of frigging about i have returned all the pollution crap to where it should be
according to the diagram that Damian kindly sent it drives a lot better .
all that i have to do is change the carby with the one that i had in stock , (found)
i will make a little mechanical linkage to open the secondrys
