RA28 hatch doesn't lift as vertical as a TA22/RA23 boot lid, and the RA28 would also be far less aerodynamic (as aerodynamic as a brick) as you would have to cut behind the hatch which is equal to the roof line.

I think the TA22/RA23 would work much better for a BBQ and is already a proven success for a trailer, as evident below. The one below is a trailer that carries the club's BBQ, but a BBQ hotplate spanning the inside lip of the boot would work very easily.

Great day perfect weather, the toyota flags were a nice touch.
Missed the BBQ discussion on the day. Was actually thinking about a BBQ on the way back to melbourne though not as elaborate as whats been discussed here. ,

he appeared to have some weird obsession with the bumper on crazy's ta22... rubbing it... hitting it... spent 20 mins doing it apparently.

Haha and the rest, took him 30 mins to get past the first 4 cars, apparently he is doing up his own Ta22 in green and was taking notes and pictures on the differences between the years from petrol caps to sails.

He also had to touch and caress each car in a loving manner which amused us the most. At the end of the day he came back and sat for 45mins in front of mine staring at it. So nothing strange just another Toyota fancier. I swear he had a boner while feeling the freshly painted green one.

No, tried to sell him that one he kept looking at, cannot remember who owned it but it didn't matter, we would have handed the money over. HaHa........


He did the same to the next 3 or 4 green ones down the line, so thats at least 5 boners.
It kept him busy for a couple of hours and a good laugh for us, trying to work out what he was doing. We just worried when he got to Crazy's car.
