Which kkrs are you using?
So toying with the idea of a new pair of turbos. They need to flow a max of 400hp each and have very good boost response on a high comp, hi flowing 2 litre (x2 for 4 litres).
the garret 2871R seem to deliver the goods and gets good things said about it? I want to use the Tial V-band style turbine housings too as they are nice and light and punch above their weight in flow capacity...i'm thinking i'll stay tight with a 0.63 a/r
Basically aiming for 350rwkw at 10psi (which my current KKKs will do) but with improved response if i can get it (not that the KKKs are poor).
thoughts? better options?

new BW with ceramic ball bearings and extremely light exhaust wheel are super suited for your application.

Ta mate, those EFR model looks like excellent bits of gear. I currently run x2 K26 turbine with a K27 compressor and front cover...external gates.
The 6758 looks to be a good match for approx 300hp at around a 1.8-2 pressure ratio. The smaller model would be perfect for a genuine race engine running more boost but i'm trying to keep my setup fairly lazy as i'll need to get a good few years out of it
Price has killed the whole exercise dead in the water thoughIt would the best part of $4000 once they were landed which i can't justify given my current setup seems to work pretty well.
I could get garretts on there with the Tial turbine for close to $2K, which is very tempting...but jeez, i'd hate to put new turbos on there and go backwards?

map wise i think the 2860R from garrett will be better suited to you? 2871 is a high boosting turbo, never sees its happiest place at 10psi.
Dare I say the 2560 might just scrape in your horse power figure? Should respond like crazy on your built motor.
That's the issue with all the Garretts it seems? They have quite steep maps and like a high PR for efficient flow.
The 2560 won't make 30lbs/min until big boost either unfortunately. The KKKs and BW on the other hand seem to have a very wide efficiency range in comparison.
I replaced the KKK on my old GTFour with a GT2540 and went backwards everywhere except peak hp, where it delivered a minor gain. Car was way slower overall thoughOn paper it should have been light years ahead? I don't want another experirnce like that !!

in my opinion there is no point spending money to replace them unless you go the best and spend the 4k otherwise just stick with what you have and save, as replacing with something cheap isnt goin to be worth the effort
