Toyota AC's (at least the ones of that age) do not cycle electronically, they may do it mechanically though. (ie, they may be a mechanical valve in the system that stops it from freezing up, but the compressor does not disengage).

Regarding the AC water temp sensor I can't remember what I did on my UZA70, but I have vague recollections of having to bridge it out.

    Hi,

I've never heard of clutch cycling in A70 Cars.

Your car should have a EPR/STV (Evaporator Pressure Regulator) (Suction Throttling Valve), that prevents evaporator freezing up.

Just keep constant 12v at the compressor but you should fix the problem as soon as possible. Remember that by having constant 12v to the compressor, this bypasses safety devices such as pressure switches so i'd be trying to get the a/c working normally as soon as possible.

well it must be something to do with that water sensor thing as after awhile it switched off again just went to shops then at shop I gave it a 12v kick start and all was ok for another 5kms then it went off again I dont think my car has that suction valve? I know of a 7M Z20 that had some wierd looking device near the strut tower mine doesnt have this hmmmmmm. im gonna go and ground that AC water temp sensor and see how she goes

Yeah turns out I might be wrong, Supras might not have it, in that case they might switch the compressor off via the A/C Amplifier by the input of the thermister in the evaporator, just guessing.

I don't know if this will help, but could you try turn the "Auto" Feature off on the climate control?
Something is causing the compressor to go off.

Does it vary between cold or hot days, any sort of pattern?

Maybe some faulty relays or wiring too relays?

That pipe is probably blocked (with leaves or similar).
    Just needs cleaning out.

    Don't use a compressor.
Get under the dash, remove the lower panel and you'll see where the pipe leaves the evap box and goes through the firewall.
With a towel handy (it might still be full of water) pull the pipe off the box. You should just be able to blow it out.
