Default Harry's Cafe De Wheels. A suggestion.

I'm sure most of you are aware that Harry's at Liverpool is, what I believe to be, the hub of the Car Culture in south western Sydney, if not the whole of Sydney. On any given Saturday night but especially the last Saturday of each month, hundreds of cars gather there. Anything from Hot Rods and Muscle Cars to Street Machines and all types of Classics, all converge in the carpark behind Harry's. Also there are fairly regular ( probably every few months) shows held there by various Hot Rod clubs and such.

On the other side of the whole Mega Centre site that Harry's is situated, over near Krispy Kreme and McDonalds, the younger folk gather with their doof machines and all things associated with that scene.

What I was wondering was if somehow we could declare Saturday nights at Harry's an official club event. There's no real organising to it, just turn up and take in the coolness of it all. Also as an official event every Saturday night, those of us with Historic vehicles could drive them there and get a bit more use out of them. It is always a very laid back and friendly atmosphere.

    Any thoughts?

    Cheers, Greg.

So, from the lack of comment from the Board and the rank and file after more than a week, I'm guessing this was a bad idea?

My thoughts were that it be an open event set down for every saturday night and people could attend whenever they wanted. For me it's more about being able to use Historically registered cars more.

If your car is legal then you shouldn't have a thing to worry about.

In all the years I've been going to Harry's I've only ever seen the RTA set-up once. The cops only come when the idiots from over near Mcdonalds do something stupid. Over on the Harry's side is a more mature congregation that don't do anything dumb.

It's really not as bad as you're making out dude. Don't be a goose and they won't bother you. Like I said, I rarely see cops there, especially on a Saturday night.

I have been out that way on a meetup to cruises or just random drives in both Harry's and KKs car park and never had an issue with cops. This includes in modded, stock & classic cars. I'd come out for a chat and see if anyone wanted to head out further for a drive on the night if nothing else was on. ie on nights I am going for a run in the car anyway why not meet up with others and make it a social thing.
    If in doubt power out

My mate is hosting a car show there on January 14th but thats another event in itself, once I get all the details I'll put up a new thread if it doesn't clash with other events...

But other than that, if I find myself free from work I'd come down for a hangout
    Ben...
