    Nice 046 pearl two tone, ripper colour.

    Anything else done to the car besides TTM ? If the turbos are knackered be a good chance to lowball him a cash offer, because its definetly a buyers markets for hi-po Toyota imports out there.

    Hopeless with names but cars i know

    Figured I would let you guys know the end result:

    Mark from C-Red told me the car is in excellent condition all around and would be a great car. BUT..... and this is a big BUT.... The turbos are totally cooked and compression is low on two of the cylinders.

    So I ended up getting the car for a lower price and plan on getting the turbos replaced ASAP. I will post pics once the is in my driveway

    Okay guys I have signed up at jzs147 thanks for letting me know about that
    my user name is aristo_eece

    Car isn't missing whatsoever, Here's the exact notes he wrote on the invoice:

    Compression 195 185 175 155 145 185. Cylinder 4 and 5 low. Otherwise vevicle in excellent condition, reflecting KM's.

    And yes, he did misspell "vehicle" on the sheet

    Thanks Woggin I will let you know if I need your skills

    Sweet as my user is blatantly obvious on the forums

    Compression is ok seen shitloads worse then that and car stil run fine, when you get into the low 100s and under is when need to do something. As it stands engine is still healthy.

    Look fwd to piclets and introduce yourself on the forums to etc,etc.

    dunno, 195 to 145 is a BIG DIFFERENCE, wonder wat could of caused such a low reading....was the compression test a 'dry' test or a 'wet' test (did they drop oil down the spark plug holes?) the only time i have seen numbers so varied is when Pete popped his 2j at the strip Jamie!(but that was MUCH MUCH WORSE 170 to 40) then again, it could just be human error....my username is the same on the jzs forums, at the end of the day, as long as the car drives good, thats wat matters!

    Id say some of its user error & natural wear / tear in the discrepancies.

    195 is to high anyway,,,,,145 - 155 is nothing to be alarmed about anyway JVs was reading 90 and still went like a cut snake, Remember its a 2J Sotiri, bet if you did a comp test on your engine it'd be allover the shop,

    How cheap if you dont mind me asking did you get the car for ?

    @woggin

    I couldn't tell you whether it was a wet or dry test as I was working during the test, however he told me that the compression wasn't terribly low and I would almost certainly get away with simply changing the turbos rather than the whole engine.

    @aristoman
    I paid $6000 for the car which I thought was a great price given I only need to spend another $1500 or so to get the car up to mark.

    I should also mention that I actually picked up the car yesterday and it is now in my driveway gave it a wax and polish and can't believe how immaculate the car actually is

    pics coming soon.

    Exactly compression is more then ok in my opinion not much to be concerned about...

    To be fair i could have the engine changed quicker then pulling and reinstalling turbos back on !

    6k is a fair price being our cars like most imports have depreciated rapidly in value.

    Look fwd to the pics...ps: which side of the river you reside north or south ?

    Yeah well I am not sure which way I am going to go, i'll explain my options to the best of my ability:

    Option 1: I can purchase new turbos and get them installed, I got quoted $1000 labour for that.

    Option 2: The guy who sold me the car has transferred the warranty from Fabcar and I am not covered for turbos, however they can contribute $1750 toward a new engine since the compression is low. So I can basically get a new engine, sell the old one to help offset the labour cost of installing the new engine.

    So yeah, new engine could be on the cards, if anyone knows where I can nab a decent one xD

    Oh, and I live SoR

    Id go engine option because the turbos will be attached and there's no rooting around pulling old shit of and reinstalling turbos again.

    Shame just sold an 2J aristo engine to one of my mates, was sitting in an aristo doing sweet FA. Had 170psi across all cylinders and went bloody well.

    PM mxracer92 who's my cuz & im sure he has a 2J he can offload.

    SOR what a shame
